I direct the whole way. Where to stand, what to do with your shoulders, when to actually stop smiling for a second. If you've had a bad headshot before, it was probably someone who pointed a camera at you and waited.

Before you leave, we go through the shots together and you pick your favorites on the spot. You'll know it worked before you're back in your car.

We talk first

A quick call before anything gets paid for. LinkedIn reads differently than a casting site, and a yard sign reads differently than both, so I want to hear where these are going.

Bring two or three outfits. I'll send notes on color and fit beforehand, and we'll narrow it down when you get there.

We shoot

About an hour. I direct, you don't have to guess. We review as we go.

Your Questions, Answered

  • Bring two or three options. Solid colors and clothes that actually fit photograph well. Busy patterns fight with your face and usually lose. I'll send you notes once you book.

  • My studio, unless you want otherwise. Controlled light, clean background, no weather and no strangers walking through your frame. If you want something with more of the city in it, we can shoot on location for $150 more, and I'll pick the spot based on what you tell me the photos are for.

  • Blemishes, stray hairs, uneven skin. You'll look like yourself on a good day. I'm not reshaping anyone's face and nobody's going to ask if you got work done.

  • Hasn't happened, but we're reviewing as we shoot for exactly that reason. If something isn't working we fix it while you're still standing there, which is the whole advantage of picking your images with me instead of getting a gallery link three days later.
